He is stating that the surgical strikes in PoK last year were meant to give a message to Pakistan, Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Monday warned that same strikes can occur again if the neighbouring country does not behave them. “Surgical strikes are a message that we would like to communicate, and I think they understand that,” General Rawat said after releasing the book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv and Rahul . “If required, and if the opponent does not behave themselves , then we would continue with these kind of surgical strikes. There are also other ways of doing these things and they may not take the same thing same again,” he said. Responding to increase in number of attempts to cross the Line of Control, General Rawat said, “They ( Pakistan militant) would keep coming, and we would keep picking them and bury them to the path of hell.” He said about the surgical strikes, “we are now more capable of taking decisions keeping our national interests in mind”. Observing that the country was “poor in recording history”, he hoped that one day personal accounts of soldiers would also find their way into school books.
